deciding what's best for you & your pet

At Barkleys, we understand the death of a loved pet can be very overwhelming.  During this difficult time, you may find comfort in knowing we are family owned business and pet owners.

We will never trivialise your feelings and will handle your pet in a dignified and caring way.  Your pet will receive the highest quality end of life service.

The loss of a pet is an extremely emotional time in our lives.  When a pet dies, there is a tremendous amount of pain and emptiness.  Many families will feel the loss of a pet in the same way they would feel the loss of a (human) family member.  A pet’s love is pure and unconditional, and it is important to find comfort knowing that your sorrow and pain is natural and there is compassion for your loss.

We can help guide you and your family through the various services and options that we can offer.  We have a private “Quiet Room” for your family to spend some time with your pet before saying goodbye.

the rainbow bridge…

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colours.

Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hill and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.

There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who were sick hurt or in pain and made whole again.

There is one thing missing, they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth. So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up. The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group.

You have been to see when you and your special friend meet, you take him in your arm and hug him. He licks and kisses your face again and again and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together never again to be apart.
